I've been
mystery shopping now since 2005. 2005 is the year I began attempting to
make extra income from home on top of my day job. I wasn't having much success with
multi-level marketing programs where you have to refer others in order to earn income, but I ran into secret shopping, and started making a nice extra income from home right away (of course you have to wait a month in order to receive your first check, but from then on it was very consistent).
The only problem was that I was working very hard at secret shopping, sometimes doing 7 to 10 shops in a day. I was
averaging about $700 to $1,000 extra a month by doing mystery shopping, but it felt like my time was being stolen from me. This all happened while I was residing in Washington State. Since I've moved to New Orleans, LA the jobs have significantly dwindled away, but I still get phone calls from schedulers asking me to complete jobs for them. I usually end up turning them down because since I've moved to New Orleans, I've had more time to
build my online business. I'm having a lot more success and fun building my online business from home versus doing a lot of hard labor for mystery shopping companies.
The whole point of this topic is to point out the fact that you will always want to concentrate on
building your residual income, not income that if you stop working, the cash flow stops flowing.
